Juliet is an elder of the Moon-Seeker faction within the Verbena. She’s the daughter of a late Victorian-era housewife, who took part in the occult revival in the early 20th century. Juliet came of age in a strange household, where Verbena occult beliefs were enjoying wide popularity among the jaded elite. Although WWI put a damper on that, she had already Awakened by the time of the war’s outbreak, and there was no going back.
Juliet has experienced the joy and sorrow of love and family in her long lifetime. Though she has lost husbands and children to war and the Technocracy, she’s rejuvenated herself more than once to go through it again. She enjoys life, and love, and has plenty of both to offer. She’s not tired of living yet.
Her current role at Glastonbury, oddly enough for a Moon-Seeker, is as a nurturer and healer, tending to the Chantry’s health and well-being. She takes the West or Water corner in ritual casting, as appropriate for a healer. Although her latest brood of children dates back to the 60’s and are grown up, she often serves as day-care for other young kids being raised in or around the chantry, including for a time the Hungarian youngster Gizi, who Morgan and Joshua rescued in their travels. She’s a friendly, motherly figure.
While Morgan and Joshua know her husband, Stephen, more from the work he put into their armor, Juliet gave Morgan advice about Paradox Realms and restoring balance just after Morgan’s restoration to Awakened mortality. Since that time, however, the Snowmists were forced to abandon their rustic log cabin located on the Tor grounds, and they carried what they could back to the hidden grotto. The remote location had become too much of a risk, with vampires on the prowl, over-curious mages searching for the ritual’s secrets, and threats from Nephandi and Banes.
Juliet’s paradigm is inclusive, eclectic and experimental, but at Glastonbury she gives due deference to the druidic magick practiced there for generations. Her Life magick manifests through classic herbalism — poultices, teas, elixirs and infusions. Her work is often quick and low-key; she rarely brews up a big batch of anything in a cauldron, unless it’s a soup or stew.
Image: Juliet is around a century old, looks about 30, but her behavior is older, more mature. She has the look of a mother, not an unblemished (or untouched) maiden. She’s not shy about it, either. She is attractive for her age, but not exceptionally so, with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. She’s English, but not the prim and proper sort. She dresses casually, a semi-contemporary hippie chic that might remind one of Stevie Nicks.
She is typified by the Ten of Cups and the color yellow.
